Prior to joining Tomball ISD, Bob Thompson had been with Spring Independent School District (SISD) since 1990.  He has served as an elementary teacher, middle school teacher, football coach, assistant principal, district administrator, and principal.  Thompson worked as a district administrator in the roles of Social Studies Director, Executive Director for Secondary Education and Executive Director for Instructional Engagement.  Thompson was part of the team that developed Carl Wunsche Sr. High School and led the design of the SISD Virtual School and the Accelerated College Program that became the bridge to Spring’s Early College High School.  During his years as principal of Carl Wunsche Sr. High School from 2012-2017, the campus was recognized nationally as a Breaking Ranks High School by the National Association of Secondary Schools and the Center for Secondary School Redesign.  The campus was also honored in Washington, D.C. for implementing the nation’s most outstanding law enforcement career pathway.  Bob’s wife, Lauren, is the principal at Timber Creek Elementary.  Bob and Lauren have two children currently attending school in Tomball ISD.
